316H Stainless Steel (1.4919)

316H stainless steel is a high-carbon version of 316, offering superior strength, high-temperature resistance, and durability for use in demanding environments such as petrochemical, power generation, and offshore industries.

316H Stainless Steel

316H steel (1.4919) is a high-carbon austenitic alloy within the 316 family. The increased carbon content improves the alloy’s strength and hardness, particularly at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for high-pressure, high-stress applications. The “H” designation refers to its higher carbon range, typically between 0.04–0.10%, compared to standard 316.

The enhanced mechanical strength of 316H makes it a reliable choice for components like 316H plate, pipe, and round bar, especially where stress tolerance and thermal stability are crucial. Its high-temperature performance is also supported by good resistance to intergranular corrosion and excellent creep resistance, key traits for applications involving prolonged heat exposure.

Common sectors using 316H stainless steel include chemical and petrochemical processing, power generation, and offshore oil and gas industries. It is also used in the manufacture of boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and welded parts such as 316H stainless steel pipes and flanges.
