314 Stainless Steel (1.4841)
Robust structural performance in high-heat, oxidising, and carburising environments, built for thermal and chemical extremes.
314 Stainless Steel
314 stainless steel (1.4841) is a specialist austenitic alloy designed for sustained operation in aggressive thermal and chemical conditions. With a high nickel content (25–27%) and elevated chromium levels (19–22%), it provides outstanding resistance to oxidation, carburisation, and thermal fatigue, even in atmospheres exceeding 1100°C.
Unlike standard heat-resistant grades, 314 contains added silicon (~1.5%) to enhance carburisation resistance in gas-fired furnaces, while 2–3% molybdenum delivers additional durability against pitting and localised attack from chlorides or acidic residues. This makes it ideal for use in radiant tubes, furnace belts, and other components exposed to fluctuating heat cycles, chemical vapours, or high mechanical stress.
With enhanced resistance to carburisation and thermal cycling, 314 stainless steel is a reliable solution for long-term use in petrochemical reformers, industrial kilns, and incineration systems, where high heat and aggressive atmospheres are standard operating conditions.
