Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Machinability
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 can be machined using conventional machining methods which are used for ironbased alloys.Machining operations are performed using commercial coolants. Highspeed operations such as grinding, milling or turning, are performed using waterbased coolants.
Forming
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 can be formed using all conventional techniques.
Welding
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 is welded using gastungsten arc welding, shielded metalarc welding, gas metalarc welding, and submergedarc welding methods.
Heat Treatment
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 is heat treated by annealing at 955°C (1750°F) followed by cooling.
Forging
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 is forged at 983 to 1094°C (1800 to 2000°F).
Hot Working
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 is hot worked below 927°C (1700°F).
Cold Working
Standard tooling is used for cold working Incoloy(r) alloy 825.
Annealing
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 is annealed at 955°C (1750°F) followed by cooling.
Hardening
Incoloy(r) alloy 825 is hardened by cold working.
